ICT Committee Goal
In alignment with the school's vision - A Vibrant School Leaders of Character, Learners for Life, the Infocomm Technology Curriculum aims to produce Digitally Empowered, Future-ready Learners and Innovators. This takes point from the Ministry of Education's overall EdTech Plan. (opens in new tab)
The Digitally Empowered, Future-ready Innovators Curriculum (DEFI) in Townsville Primary School provides our students with progressive equipping of technology skills and development of their digital competencies (opens in new tab). In line with the school's ethos of preparing learners for life, ICT skills are taught to students to equip them with the necessary InfoComm skills to engage learning. The planned exposure and skills are designed to ignite their learning and allow them the means to maximise their potential not just as consumers of technology but as creators with technology.
Our twin goals:
Digitally and technologically literate learners who are self-directed in learning
Technology-enabled creators, collaborators and connectors.
We use a two-tiered approach to the acquisition of Digital Competencies
Digital Explorers
Digital Explorers helps Primary 1 to 4 students build key digital skills through hands-on activities. Find out what your child will learn at each level.
Digital Innovators
Discover how Digital Innovators equips Primary 5 and 6 students with digital skills in art, music, and coding to create, collaborate, and solve real-world challenges.
