Math Explorers
Helping P1 to P5 students apply classroom maths to real-life everyday contexts.
Math Explorers (P1-P5)
From the moment we wake up until we go to bed, we use mathematical skills without even realizing it. With that in mind, the activities were designed to help students apply the mathematical concepts and skills they learn in the classroom to real-life situations.
Math Explorers tasks are specially created to engage students in reasoning, critical thinking, and communication within authentic, real-world contexts. These tasks encourage students to explore their school environment and learning experiences, helping them make meaningful mathematical connections to the world around them.
P1: Bingo game with 9 activities around the school to explore and apply mathematical ideas.
P2: Problem-solving tasks on measuring lengths and planning food orders within a given budget.
P3: Understanding the canteen layout and practicing budgeting skills.
P4: Reading and interpreting NAPFA (National Physical Fitness Award) tables to set and improve personal fitness goals.
P5: Planning and budgeting for the National Education (NE) goodie kit.
